In the spirit of Halloween the Bay Area Runners Club presents the 5th annual Pumpkin Slayer 5K. Do you like going for a mid-week run or walk in the evening? Then come out for a spooky and fun time at the holiday Pumpkin Slayer 5K. This 5K run/walk will begin at 6:00pm on Wednesday October 29, 2025. The course will be on the paved rail trail across the street from the Coryell Fieldhouse located on 514 Morton St. in Bay City, part of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail Network. This creepy course will be winding participants through the haunting woods using specifically the Bay-Zil Trail heading into Frankenlust Township. It is an out and back course. We will have refreshments at the finish line as we will hand out awards to division winning runners and walkers. A festive event orange beanie hat will be offered during on-line registration (Cutoff deadline is October 2nd). This is a family friendly event for a wonderful cause, proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Bay City. Children 12 and under may take part in the FREE Kids Run, just minutes before the 5K event.

Race day registration price will be $30. Please be aware that no hats may not be available on race day registration.
